Rainbow Wellington supports queer short film for $1000.
Yoobee College of Creative Innovation asks it’s students to produce a final project.
Single Use Films, a passionate and creative student film group based at Yoobee Colleges Wellington NZ, reached out to explore the possibility of a partnership, sponsorship, or funding opportunity with Rainbow Wellington.
At Yoobee, they are dedicated to producing high-quality and thought-provoking films that engage and inspire their audience. Over the past few years, they have successfully completed several projects that have received recognition both within their university community and at a higher level. Their work primarily focuses on addressing social and health-related issues, and Rainbow Wellington believed that promoting safe and sustainable relationships in Aotearoa, aligns well with our mission.
The film ‘Single Use’ follows the relationship between two gay men, one of which has contracted HIV. Within this story, they want to share awareness and correct information around this topic, including safe, protected sex, and the hookup culture within the queer community.
Rainbow Wellington also connected them with Burnett Foundation and community members with lived experience, to ensure the film was authentic and sensitive.
Rainbow Wellington has a grants programme to support ideas that support and develop the LGBTQ+/Rainbow communities. Check out our website for more information.
