Rainbow Wellington has invited Pōneke’s leading Mayoral contenders to our Rainbow Mayoral Forum.
We’re pleased to have Andrew Little, Karl Tiefenbacher and Alex Baker joining us to discuss everything from trans rights to social housing and Māori wards (Diane Calvert and Ray Chung were also invited but had previous commitments. They have both said they will attend if plans change).
With LGBTTQIA+ issues receiving a lot of political attention lately, this is your chance to hear from Wellington’s would-be leaders about how they will represent and advocate for our community. With quick-fire question rounds and the chance to chat with mayoral (and some council) candidates afterwards over some refreshments, this is one you don’t want to miss. We will ensure it is an inclusive and respectful debate.
The event will include New Zealand Sign Language interpreters to support access and participation for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
